About Greg Skluzacek:

I graduated from NIU (Northern Illinois Unviersity) in 1990 with an undergraduate degree in Accounting and obtained my CPA license shortly after that. I then worked for 5 years for a small company as the assistant controller for 5 years while working on my masters in computer science at NIU. I later changed jobs and began working at Motorola in their IT department, while continuing to work on my masters degree. In 1997 I took what ended up bein a permenant hiatius when my first child, Megan, was born.

I still work for Motorola in Schaumburg, I've been there since Apr '95, doing development work. I have worked extensively in several of Motorola's order processing applications including back end systems (Perl & AS/400 Cobol) front end systems (MS ASP/COM & IBM OS2 clients developed in AM). I have worked extensively with Oracle Database systems and have an excellent command of SQL.

After doing development for many years, I progressed into doing Project Manage work in IT Projects, working extensively with Indian Offshore resources. I have a wide range of experience from BA/BSA work to application, database & systems architecture. After determining the overall solution I would collaborate with the offshore team to create the design. The offshore team would then perform coding and unit testing. I would then assist with them with integration testing and resolution of defects and other issues. Then I usually perform all system testing myself or coordinate all system testing. The majority of this work was done on Motorola's Business to Business web site Motorola Online.

I also do freelance web development in PHP / MySQL out side of Motorola. I have developed a complete website for a local business in Crystal Lake, Storage on the Spot - a provider of portable storage solutions. This web site is completely database driven, with customer user funcationality for FAQs, Contact Us, and Reqesting Quotes. Admin functionality also exists for maintaining FAQs, replying to Contact Us / Quote information requestes and maintaining metatag data for all web pages. I have extensive experience with Macintosh as I do all of my freelance work on the Mac Platform.

I am also familiar with C/C++ and Java although I have not done any professional development in it. I also am in the process of learning Adobe Flex.
